Making the most of plastics

As an environmentally conscious manufacturer, Pakaflex is working to assist industry in recycling of plastic materials, helping the environment, reducing landfill, contributing to individual companies’ abilities to meet their triple bottom line responsibilities and the 2025 National Packaging Targets of:-

In 2021, in conjunction with support from Sustainability Victoria, we installed a special recycling line to recover heavily printed wrap and remake it into polymer suitable for using in new wrap again. A genuine closed loop product.

We also aim to be good members of the local community, and are keen to assist the industry in achieving sustainable solutions for the future. At Pakaflex we follow the sustaiability guidelines by ensuring we only use recyclable materials, design for recovey, optimise material efficiency and use recycled materials where possible

Circular Economy

We are proud to be working with the timber industry to recycle our wraps, and using our special recycler, making them back into brand new wrap again.

APCO

The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation works with brand owners in the packaging value chain and collaborates to keep packaging materials out of landfill and retains the maximum value of the materials, energy and labour within the local economy.

Sustainability

We aim to meet the Sustainable Packaging Guidelines. Our focus is on designing for recovery (whith non-hazardous LLDPE material), while reducing waste and optimising material efficiency. We incorporate recycled and closed loop recycle whenever possible.
